Man versus Flu (Round 3)

There won't be a post tonight. As frustrating as it is, I'm on my third bout with this killer flu, which just keeps coming back as different members of my family catch it and hand it back to everyone else. I've never dealt with anything this hard to kill off. So sadly, I just don't have the energy to write anything. Sorry folks.

Sorry about this folks. This thing keeps going away and them someone shows up with it and we all get it again. I've never seen anything like this.

Unfortunately, I am packing for a move, so I've been a little lax in my writing, as well.

Feel better Andrew. No need to kill yourself just to entertain us.

Thanks guys. This stuff just stinks. It's like my lungs are full of concrete.

I have been lucky enough to escape the wrath of the flu for a few years now. The last time I got it, it was virtually impossible to stay standing for more than a few seconds. As everybody in my family but me got the flu this past year, I must assume my immune system was raised to Defcon 1.

Doing the Real Ghostbusters review was fun, and I have some cartoons in mind to do another one for, it's just a matter to pick one to focus on, plus carving out the time apart from work.

I haven't had it in years and I thought it was impossible to get the same thing twice, but I've had this three times now this season. It's miserable. You can't stand up because you're dizzy. You have no energy at all to do anything. Even watching television is taxing. And my lungs are just full of congestion.

I'm happy for any reviews you want to write! I liked the Ghostbusters review too because it's one I really knew nothing about.

Hope you feel better soon, Andrew.

I got hit with a three-fer within the last month, after years of getting nothing. First one was a fever/headache/weakness thing that lasted for a few days, then disappeared. After a week or so of feeling fine, I suddenly got nasal congestion with an uncommon amount of sneezing and the runniest nose I think I've ever had, but nothing (thankfully) affecting my throat. That disappeared after nearly a week, and spent another week or so of feeling good again, then another round of fever/headache/weakness for a couple of days. That's been over for a couple of weeks now, so I hope I'm not just being set-up for Round 4.

Thanks Backthrow. Same here! I had nothing for years and then this thing hit me... went away... hit me again... went away... and now has hit me again. Each time it's been a little different, but each time it's sucked. :(

Everyone I know has had it too. It seems to be all over town.

My wife is a preschool teacher. The number of times she has been tying a kid's shoe, only to look up and have the kid sneeze in her face ... ick. If ever the is an outbreak of Captain Trips, my family is doomed.

In the past five years, I've had influenza develop into pneumonia four times. This year I avoided it by taking more time to rest (got a high pressure job) so, make sure you take care and don't push it. Hope this is you last run of it.

I came down with a bad cold/flu almost three weeks ago in San Antonio (every joint ached, chills etc.) Missed three days of work. The cough is still hanging on. Won't let go of me. Feel good except for stupid cough. Very strange.

PikeBishop, That's what this was/was/is -- total exhaustion, massive congestion, chills, aches all over, and it lingers and lingers and lingers.

KRS, I can imagine being a teacher, your wife probably gets the worst of everything that's going around.

I've been lucky that this has stayed the flu or whatever it is without getting worse. I think the pneumonia shot I took has helped in that regard because my lungs are packed with congestion right now, but I seem to have avoided pneumonia. (Hopefully, that continues.)
